Climate Inequalities

2019 has been the year of climate awakening. To support the numerous mobilizations that have developed for social and ecological justice, and thus to protect the living, Notre Affaire à Tous wanted to create a consortium between academic and associative spheres. Because it is by pooling our expertise that we are stronger and heard by those we want to see act. The « Living in Urban Furnaces » survey is the result of a unique and essential alliance between Notre Affaire à Tous, the University of Lyon 2 and UMR Triangle to think about new, more ecological living environments and territories.

This survey is unpublished and focuses on the climate experiences and ecological commitments in 5 major cities in the south of France ! With the geographer Guillaume Faburel, 3 doctoral students, a post-doctoral student and 8 students, we highlighted the need to protect fundamental rights and the right of humans and living things to a viable future on planet Earth.

In May 2018 and April 2019, we were giving citizens the opportunity to tell how their daily lives are impacted by climate disruption and environmental degradation.

To bear witness is to say: There are victims of climate change. There are also people in charge. And the battle of the 21st century is indeed that of establishing climate justice. Testifying is also contributing to raise awareness of the devastating effects of climate change, to protect the living !

Your testimonies make this reality heard. They are concrete examples of the need to act for the climate and the environment. Answer our call and tell us your story, how your professional life, your private life, your health, your perspectives are changed. Thanks to you, we will form a community of witnesses, to make climate and social justice happen.
